Grant-writing, project management, trouble-shooting, consortium development, and developing and improving complex service operations and workflows: these are some of the areas of library administration I have enjoyed over the years. My consulting practice is designed to give me a chance to share and expand what I have learned while working in collaboration with colleagues around the nation and the world.
Conducting overall assessments of library operations and services, and developing plans for investment and improving libraries, are activities I enjoy doing for libraries and their parent institutions. This might extend, under the right circumstances, to serving as interim director long enough to provide a full assessment of what the library needs to thrive, to inform a search process for a new director, and to make the library ready for a new director. My goal is always to help move libraries forward and to improve their services; I am happy to work out customized arrangements to meet specific institutional needs.
